Glögg (Mulled Wine)
This yummy recipe came from one of our super fans - Dave J. of San Diego. This will warm you from the inside out on chilly nights. This recipe Makes about 100 oz, so you can share with friends!
- 1/2 gal burgundy wine
- 1/2 qt brandy
- 6 oz vodka
- 6 oz Cointreau or triple sec. , you can sub capt morgan spiced rum
- 4 oz dry sherry
- 4 oz sweet vermouth
- 1 tbs angostura bitters
- 1 tbs all spice
- 4 small cinnamon sticks
- 4 orange slices with the centers cut out
- 1/4 cup raisins
- 2 tbs "Therabee Honey"
Put all ingredients in a large pot, simmer 45 min. (Tasting this simmering brew while simmering is a requirement!)
You can add something here and there to fine tune it to taste!
Strain into container (I use an empty gallon wine jug).
Let sit overnight. Reheat and serve. I serve from a large crock pot. Serve about 3 oz in a cup. You can add a few raisins in cup bottom.
